GUWAHATI, Aug 24 - The GSA Super Division Football League for the RG Baruah Trophy between Gauhati Town Club and Rajbari Athletic Club was abandoned after a chaotic scene occurred during the match at the Nehru Stadium here today.
Gauhati Town Club were leading when the players and supporters of the Rajbari manhandled the referee citing his decisions were not proper.
Security arrangements were not proper during the match and as a result the supporters of the team managed to sneak through to the ground and roughed up the unprotected whistleman.
Rajbari AC is placed at the bottom of the eight-team championship with just one point from three matches. It was their fourth match.
On the other hand, GTC have collected four points from three matches.
