GRP-CRPF personnel clash at Badarpur station

BADARPUR, July 1 � Two GRP (Government Railway Police) personnel, Aali Bulbul and Shyam Krishna Singh, were seriously injured in a clash was occurred between the GRP and the CRPF at Badarpur railway station on Sunday evening, at about 8-15 pm.

According to sources, when the Lumding-bound Cachar Express reached Badarpur Railway Station from Silchar, it was seen that all the reserved seats of the train were occupied by the CRPF personnel, and the genuine passengers could not take their reserved seats. The passengers protested and the told CRPF personnel to leave their seats immediately. The CRPF personnel, however, instead of vacating the seats, assaulted the passengers creating an untoward situation in the station. The passengers rushed to the GRP Police Station of Badarpur and asked the GRP to take necessary steps against the CRPF immediately. Two GRP personnel, Aali Bulbul and Shyam Krishna Singh, immediately rushed to the site and asked the CRPF personnel to vacate the reserved seats immediately, but the latter attacked the GRP personnel injuring them. The agitating passengers also attacked the Badarpur GRP o/c�s office for net getting proper justice.

After getting information of this incident, a high-level police team from Badarpur and Karimganj rushed to the station and brought the situation under control.
