GUWAHATI, Sept 13 � Green Valley Sports Club will face Assam Rifles in the final of the 4th Gauhati Town Club Challenge Football Tournament on September 15 at the Judges� Field here .
Today, in the first semifinal played at the Judges� Field, Green Valley overcame Oil India Limited 6-5 in sudden death.
In the regulation time, both the teams were 1-1. Green Valley�s George Prince scored the first goal in the 35th minute. OIL�s F Wary found the equaliser in the 75th minutes and both the teams headed for a tie breaker.
In the tie breaker, both the teams scored 3 goals each which led to a sudden death situation.
In sudden death, Green Valley managed to put 2 goals whereas OIL struck once but missed the second chance.
In the second semifinal, Assam Rifles beat Lajong Football Club by a solitary goal. The match winning goal was scored by Lanrimjima of Assam Rifles in injury time.
