Green Valley, GTC to play final today

By Sports reporter

GUWAHATI, July 15 The all important final of the 8th Premier Agro Bio-Tech NN Bhatta Football Tournament will be played at the Nehru Stadium here tomorrow.

Green Valley Sports Club will take on Gauhati Town Club in the summit clash which will kick off at 3.30 pm.

On way to the final, Green Valley got the better of FCI SC, Dynamo Club and Assam Police Blues and on the other hand, Town Club defeated Rising XI, ASEB SC and Maharana Athletic Club.

Considering the performance in the previous matches, Green Valley could be termed as favourite in tomorrows final as their striking duo George Prince and hard-working Michel Lucky Kelechukwu have proved to be deadly. Michel in particular in such form that he can cruise through any defence. But they received a heavy blow in yesterdays semifinal against Assam Police Blues as their most dependable defender Nigerian Jonathon Nnamdi was booked for the second time in the championship. Earlier, he was cautioned in their match against Dynamo Club.

Gauhati Town Club also showed potentiality in their previous matches. Their captain Tomba Singh is a good game maker. They have some able striker in the likes of John Sonowal, Tapan Kalita and Rakesh Das. But they have to strenghten their middle third.

Green Valley has some good midfielders like Shabir Ali and Gaiham Rongmei. If they can maintain their previous form, it will be a tough nut to crack for Town.
