Grants distributed

BARAMA, Dec 22 - The Sarania Kachari Development Council distributed two bundles tin sheets to 100 poor Sarania Kachari people each and five sewing machines to five community women at a public meeting held at Tamulpur in Baksa district recently.

Addressing the meeting, the vice-chairman of the council, Dipak Deka, said that the State Government has been contributing a lot for the development of Sarania Kachari people by adopting various welfare schemes.

He said that the socio-economic condition of the Sarania Kachari people was very bad as a result of which this community is lagging behind.

Sonbar Baruah, the vice-president of All Assam Sarania Kachari Sanmilani, Prabin Deka, the advisor of All Assam Sarania Kachari Students� Union and Mahendra Rava, the general secretary of Tamulpur Block Congress Committee were also present in the meeting.
