JALAH, Sept 1 - The Gramya Bigyan Mela-2018 was observed here at Kamardwisa High School under Jalah Circle in Baksa district recently with a two-day programme where social workers, teachers, students attended. The Assam Science Society, Simla branch organised the Gramya Bigyan Mela-2018 under the aegis of Manas Maozigendri Ecotourism Society.
The first day�s programme began with the flag of Assam Science Society being hoisted by Anil Kumar Thakuria, president of Assam Science Society, Simla branch. The tree plantation programme was led by Chandra Kanta Basumatary, president of Chapaguri Kaklabari Primary Bodo Sahitya Sabha.
Later, an exhibition programme of the school students was inaugurated by Devendrajit Basumatary, life member of Assam Science Society. A science quiz competition among school students was inaugurated by Matindra Daimary, State awardee teacher and the programme was conducted by Harihar Das, Khargeswar Basumatary and Kalicharan Basumatary. The �speech of students� programme was formally inaugurated by Akan Chandra Baro, vice-president of Assam Science Society and it was conducted by Harihar Das and Rabi Ram Basumatary.
The second day�s which programme began with the students� rally was inaugurated by Dharanidhar Baro, OSD of Manas National Park.
The open session was inaugurated by Pranjal Barua, SDO (C) of Salbari subdivision at 2 pm. Anil Kumar Thakuria, president of Assam Science Society, Simla branch presided over the open session. Thaneswar Basumatary, MLA of 63 No. Chapaguri LAC, delivered the chief guest�s speech while Dr Keshab Basumatary, Principal of Jalah BB Kishan College attended as appointed speaker. Earlier, Gobinda Narzary, Sahitya Akademi Awardee, Dharanidhar Baro, OSD of Manas National Park, Kalicharan Basumatary, president of Manas Maozigendri Ecotourism Society, Montu Gwra Baro, president of Chapaguri Kaklabari Anchalik Committee of ABSU and Dimbeswar Goyary, president of SMDC of Khamardwisa High School attended the session. Khargeswar Basumatary, secretary of Assam Science Society, Simla branch offered the vote of thanks.
