GPS bag cricket title

GUWAHATI, Sept 28 � Guwahati Public School (GPS) clinched the title in the Padma Saiki and Sandhan Saikia Memorial Inter School Cricket Tournament.

In the final played at the Dispur playground today, GPS earned a hard-fought six-run victory against South Point School.

In the 30-over match, GPS scored 90 losing all the wickets in 22.2 overs. In reply South Point fell six runs short as they were all out for 84 in 27 overs.

Surendra Singh of the winning team was adjudged man-of-the-match and best batsman while Dhruvraj Borah of South Point got the best bowler award.

The tournament was organised by the City Cricket Coaching Centre.
