Govts decision flayed

By ANN Service

KALIABOR, Aug 26 - The public, senior citizens, educationists, social workers etc., of Kaliabor have vehemently criticised the decision of the Education Department regarding establishment of 22 colleges in Assam in the name of Deen Dayal Upadhyaya. One college in the name of that person is more than sufficient. Instead, the Department should come forward to establish colleges in the memory of great personalities of Assam like Lakshmi Nath Bezborua, PN Gohainborua, SN Brahma, AR Dhekialphukan, SN Bordoloi and others those who had a lot of contributions towards Assam. It will be a most significant and ideal step as it will inspire our future generations, they opined.

The people said that Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has announced in various public meetings frequently that the Government will always work for the progress and development of the State as per the publics advice and suggestions. Public sentiment will never be hurt. Is he keeping to his commitment properly?, they asked.

The senior citizens appealed to the Chief Minister to come forward for taking a proper initiative in the entire issue in public interest.
