Govt urged to refund money to colleges soon

By ANN service

MUSHALPUR, Sept 28 - Immediately after coming to power, the BJP-led State Government announced free admission to the students in HS and TDC first year on production of income certificates from offices concerned showing the annual income of their guardians as below one lakh rupees. Junior and degree colleges as well as higher secondary schools under the State Government were directed by the Government to act accordingly.

It was announced that the Government would refund the admission fees to the institutions after a procedure of verification. Though three months have passed since the admissions, the Government has not refunded the money to these institutions yet. Some of the principals of colleges and higher secondary schools in Baksa said that they have been facing financial crunch for day-to-day functioning of the institutions as well as for conducting unit tests. They have been compelled to either postpone or scrap various activities of the institutions due to the fund crunch. The heads of these institutions have urged the Government to release money at the earliest for the smooth running of the institutions.
