By Staff reporter

GUWAHATI, March 23 - The State Government is planning to revive the glory of the Asom Prakashan Parishad and as a step towards that direction it has decided to publish the magazine Prakash again. It needs to be mentioned here that at one time, this magazine published by the Asom Prakashan Parishad was considered a vehicle to promote Assamese literature and it had endeared itself to the readers because of its high quality content.

Education Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday said that with Rong Bong Terang as the editor of Prakash, the magazine would surely succeed in fulfilling the expectations of the readers and enrich Assamese literature.

We have also decided to publish the children magazine Mukuta from May, informed Sarma.

Secretary of Children Literary Trust, Assam Hrishikesh Goswami will be the editor of Mukuta.

On the other hand, the Government has also decided to encourage the budding writers and promote research and fundamental works. Hundred new generation writers would be provided scholarships to the tune of Rs 50,000 to Rs one lakh every year. They will also be given forty per cent royalty if they decide to get their works published by the Asom Prakashan Parishad.
