Govt reconstitutes joint Haj committee

GUWAHATI, June 7 � The State Government has reconstituted the Joint Haj Committee of Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland and Mizoram with Minister of Welfare of Minorities Development Department Dr Nazrul Islam as chairman through a notification issued on June 6, 2014, said an official press release here today.

The reconstituted Joint Haj Committee is composed of Executive Officer of Joint State Haj Committee, Assam as member secretary. Other members of the committee are MP of Rajya Sabha Najneen Faruqui, Minister of Environment and Forest Rakibul Hussain, Parliamentary Secretary of Welfare of Minorities Development Department Sukur Ali, chairman of Morigaon Municipal Board Mohibur Rahman, Ward Commissioner of GMC Ward No. 1 Sukur Ahmed, president of Goroimari Anchalik Panchayat, lecturer of Deurail Title Madrassa Maulana Farid Uddin Choudhury, head mudaris of Moirabari Darul Ulum Madrassa Mufti Motlibur Rahman, president of Panbazar Bebasayee Sangstha Alhaj Sheikh Azizul Hussain, president of Ujani Asom Haj Yatri Tadarak Committee Iqbal Ahmed, general secretary of Shillong Muslim Union Sayeedullah Nangrum, president of Muslim Council of Dimapur, chairman of Minority Cell of APCC Adil Shah and chairperson of Assam Wakf Board.
