Speaking on the occasion, Sonowal said the government is focused on development of sports to help the athletes to perform better in the bigger stages like the Olympics, the government is coming up with schemes like National Sports Talent Search which will give the junior level sportspersons training with better technology and equipment.

Lauding the efforts of the TT Club in coming out with such a well designed indoor complex, Sonowal said that only a stadium will not help bring laurels to the country and the valley, other allied facilities like better coaching and improved training are also vital for better results. I am happy with the way the stadium has been made. But continue the efforts in making the other fundamental factors available for improved performances by the players, he said.
