Governor�s Barak Valley tour from April 19

HAILAKANDI, April 16 - Governor Jagdish Mukhi will be on an official visit to Barak Valley from April 19 to 22.

He will arrive in Silchar on April 19 and will visit Karimganj on April 20 and Hailakandi on April 21. During his maiden visit to the three districts, the Governor will interact with the deputy commissioners and security agencies to take stock of the law and law order situation in the Valley. He will hold meetings with the DCs and heads of departments regarding ongoing Central Government schemes being implemented in the districts.

The Governor will also visit various educational institutions, hospitals and offices to oversee the cleanliness drive undertaken as part of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. Apart from this, he will also interact with different religious, social, sports, literary organisations and student bodies, besides with representatives of political parties, MPs, MLAs and other elected members. He will also address mediapersons in the three districts.

In Karimganj, the Governor will visit Sutarkandi and inspect the Indo-Bangla border upto Malegarh Latu, where he will pay tribute to the martyrs of the Sepoy Mutiny at the War Memorial.

The Governor will be accompanied by First Lady Prem Mukhi, Joint Secretary DJ Borkotoky and ADC Deputy Commandant Suresh Kumar. He will depart for Guwahati after a night�s halt at Silchar on April 22, informed a Government communiqu�.
