MORIGAON, Sept 23 - Assam Governor BL Purohit visited Morigaon district on September 21. The Governor was welcomed by Deputy Commissioner, Morigaon, Hemen Das at the local circuit house and later he met several representatives of more than 20 organisations of the district. He also participated in a high-level official meeting with top officials of the district. In the meeting, the Governor directed the government officials to implement the developmental schemes in a time-bound manner.
The Morigaon District Freedom Fighters� Association and the AASU, Morigaon unit submitted memorandums to the Governor demanding better road connectivity in Morigaon district. The AASU team also apprised him about the situation that prevailed at Mayong due to illegal encroachment on government land.
The Morigaon District Journalists� Association�s representatives also met the Governor and apprised him about the problems faced by the scribes in their field and demanded an early solution to the problems faced by them.
