GUWAHATI, March 31 � Governor of Assam, Nagaland and Tripura and Chairman of North East Zone Cultural Centre, Union Ministry of Culture PB Acharya today gave away the young talented artiste awards 2014-15 to 12 youngsters from the north-eastern States at a function organised by the centre at Shilpgram auditorium, official sources said here this evening.

In his speech, the Governor said that the entire Northeast is a hub of many traditional art and culture. But some of these are on the verge of extinction. So, we have to encourage the rich art and culture of this region. He felt that such awards will encourage the young talented artistes to create quality art and the government will definitely offer its help to them, the sources added.
