HATSINGIMARI, Dec 10 Governor Janki Ballav Patnaik visited the Indo-Bangladesh border at Mankachar today. He landed at Mankachar Kamakhyabari helipad at 1.35 pm and went straight to Shahapara border outpost and there he inspected the border fencing. He also went up to the Zero Point of the border near pillar No.1061 on foot and talked to a few local people.

Returning to the Kamakhyabari BSF camp, the Governor discussed with higher BSF officials the present condition of the border.

The Governor also attended a press meet at the BSF camp, where, in reply to questions posed by this correspondent, he said that electric fencing should be installed along the riverine border. He also asserted that the border works would be completed by 2015.

It is to be noted that the Governor did not visit the controversial Boraibari area.
