GUWAHATI, May 3 Governor Janaki Ballav Patnaik today expressed deep concern over the recent incidents of violence engulfing the Bodoland Territorial Autonomous Districts (BTAD) areas and called for urgent house-to-house searches to seize all illegal arms and ammunition in the areas.
The Governor said in a statement that he has no word to condemn this most unfortunate killing of innocent people. Whether ethnic or communal, these types of incidents should never be allowed to happen. Such recurring incidents of violence, resulting in the death of innocent people and children, need to be stubbed out immediately with strong hands and peace should be allowed to return and normalcy to prevail in the entire BTAD area, the Governor said.
He further said that house-to-house searches should be made, all illegal arms and ammunitions must be seized and the guilty be brought to book without delay.
