Governor Acharya felicitated

GUWAHATI, July 7 - Governor of Assam and Nagaland PB Acharya was felicitated by Assam Bhawan, Mumbai, Indian National Fellowship Centre (INFC), Assam Association Mumbai, Naga Students� Union, Mumbai, and Shreemoyee Asomiya Mahila Samiti, Mumbai, at a function held at the Swatantryaveer Savarkar Rashtriya Smarak auditorium at Shivaji Park, Dadar (W) Mumbai on Wednesday.

The programme was chaired by Dr Sanjay Deshmukh, Vice-Chancellor of Mumbai University, and was attended by a host of dignitaries from across Mumbai.

The artistes from North East Zonal Cultural Centre (NEZCC) showcased the cultural richness of the northeastern region by their mesmerizing performances alongside local artistes from the Assam Association, Mumbai.

The Governor urged the people of the Northeast living in Mumbai to participate hand in hand with different agencies and come up with initiatives for the development of the northeastern region. He referred to them as a storehouse of immense potential �who can bring about a positive change in the development of the country�.

The Governor also urged the gathering which was attended by different business houses, journalists, and people from the world of art, culture and sports to make a serious effort for the development of the North-east.

The Governor participated in an interactive session with the audience and answered questions concerning the Northeast with special emphasis on the States of Assam and Nagaland.
