JORABAT, Dec 30 - The Khetri High School, which was established in 1967 and which has contributed a lot to institutional education in the area, will celebrate its golden jubilee year from January 1 next year. On the New Year�s Day, the flag of the school will be hoisted by retired principal of the school, Baneshwar Mikir, and the golden jubilee organising committee flag will be hoisted by the president of the committee, Nrigendra Nath Phukan.
There will be a plantation programme, to be led by Range Officer of the Sonapur Forest Range, Dalin Das. The students of the school will stage a cultural programme, which will be inaugurated by assistant secretary of the organising committee, Sankar Patowary.
The programme on January 1 will end with the lighting of lamps in the evening. Other programmes to be held during the course of the yearlong celebration will include special functions on the Republic Day on January 26, the World Health Day on April 7, the World Environment Day on June 5 and the Independence Day on August 15. The celebration will conclude with a three-day programme starting on October 21.
The Khetri High School golden jubilee organising committee has called for the active participation of all its alumni, teachers, guardians and well-wishers of this old educational institution of Dimoria area.
