GUWAHATI, April 22 � The golden jubilee celebrations of the Gauhati Cine Club will be held with a three-day programme at the District Library Auditorium here from April 26.

The formal inaugural function is scheduled at 4.30 pm. The jubilee function will start with flag hoisting and a get-together. The other programmes include felicitation of guests, lighting of the ceremonial lamp of golden jubilee celebration, speech by special guest, speech by guest of honour, speech by chief guest, down memory lane, screening of the film, The Cranes are Flying by Russian filmmaker Mikhail Kalatozov.

The second day�s programme starts at 4.30 pm with a speech on the �History of Cinema and the Film Society Movement of India,� followed by screening of the film, Travellers and Magicians, directed by Bhutanese filmmaker Khyentse Norbu.

On the concluding day, two films will be screened. The first one is titled Barravento by Brazilian director Glauber Rocha (4.30 pm), while the other, After the Fox directed by Italian filmmaker Vittorio De Sica, will be screened at 6 pm, a press release issued by Cine Club president AK Absar Hazarika and secretary Madhurima Barua stated.
