Golden jubilee celebration of Bali High School

GUWAHATI, Nov 21 - The three-day golden jubilee celebration of Bali High School, Sialmari situated in the westen part of Nalbari district was held with colourful programmes on November 13,14 and 15 at the Dr Ambika Charan Sarma Khetra.This was stated in a press release.

On the first day, Madan Ch Kalita, headmaster and chief secretary of the celebration committee, Dr Bhumidhar Barman, president of celebration committee and Madan Ch Deka, working president, students� union, hoisted the school flag, jubilee flag and the students� union flag respectively which was followed by banti prajjalan by Haridas Kalita, swahid tarpan by Kanteswar Deka, Dibakar Medhi, Tapan Tamuli and Hitesh Barman. The shraddhanjali programmes were performed by Sadananda Pathak, Debicharan Kalita, Dinanath Sarma, Dinanath Deka, Sanjay Kalita, Harekrishna Talukdar, Kandarpa Barman, Dinesh Ch Sarma, Pabindra Nath Deka and Golak Ch Pathak. The cultural procession was flagged off by Maneswar Brahma, local MLA, Barama constituency was participated by more than 2000 people of the locality.

On the second day, the programme began with a get together of the ex-students conducted by Anupam Chakraborty, a journalist, which was inaugurated by Haridas Kalita, retired headmaster of the school. The souvenir Baibhav edited by Dr Arun Deka was released by Hemanta Kr Dutta, president, Nalbari Zila Sahitya Sabha. The seminar on the topic � The necessicity of simplification of science education at the high school level� was conducted by Dr Ramani Thakuria, senior scientist, Jorhat. Dr Dipak Kr Sarma, Vice-Chancellor, Kumar Bhaskar Varma Sanskrit and Ancient Studies University, Nalbari, Munindra Narayan Goswami, retired professor, BH College, Ananta Mohan Sarma, professor, Bajali College and Dr Kabita Choudhury, associate professor, Kamrup College also participated in the seminar.

The cultural nite was inaugurated by Paresh Goswami, Director, Drama Division Directorate of Cultural Affairs Department, Government of Assam.

On the third day, antaranga alap was inaugurated by Karuna Kanta Kalita, retired professor, Tihu College which was conducted by Bharat Ch Deka, retired headmaster, Haribhanga Girls� High School. The open session presided over by Sadananda Pathak, working president of the committee and was attended by Sarat Barkataki as chief guest, Naba Sarania, MP, Kokrajhar, Biswajit Daimary MP, Rajya Sabha, Babulal Sarma, Director, Secondary Education, Monoranjan Das, MLA, Patacharkuchi, Dr Ramesh Chandra Chutiya, Inspector of Schools, Nalbari, Rekharani Das Boro, ex-minister, Paniram Rabha, ex-MLA, Pabindra Deka, among others, as distinguished guests.
