Gold bars worth Rs 2.58 cr seized in Mizoram

AIZAWL, Aug 5 - Officials of Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) seized 49 gold biscuits in Aizawl and arrested a Myanmarese national in connection with the seizure on Friday night, officials said on Sunday.

DRI officials said that the accused from Kalaymya in Myanmar was arrested from Zarkawt locality of Aizawl for possessing the gold bars.

They said that the gold biscuits worth Rs 2.58 crore were smuggled from Myanmar.

The officials also seized Indian Rs 29,000 and 45,000 Myanmar Kyats from the

accused.
