GUWAHATI, Jan 9 � Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today said that he would file a defamation suit against Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti general secretary Akhil Gogoi for claiming that he had properties worth Rs 17.88 crore in USA.
In a statement here, Gogoi said that his son in law and daughter, who have been working in the USA for a long time, have a house in that country. But at the same time Gogoi asserted that his wife did not have any property in USA.
The Chief Minister further said that if Akhil Gogoi can prove that any member of his family including his wife has any property in USA, the same would be donated to the peasant leader.
