GUWAHATI, Oct 24 - Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi thanked the people of the State for a smooth and peaceful Durga Puja.
In a statement here today, Chief Minister Gogoi said the Durga Puja celebrations passed off peacefully without any untoward incident in the wake of support and cooperation from the people, the civil and police administration, puja samitees, NGOs and other organisations.
Meanwhile, voluntary organisation Save Guwahati Build Guwahati (SGBG) has also thanked the people of the State for celebrating the Durga Puja peacefully.
SGBG general secretary Satyen Doloi also thanked the civil and the police administrations for their role in maintaining law and order situation during the Puja days.
