NEW DELHI, Oct 28 Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today handed over to the Party High Command the list containing names of MLAs, who are proposed to be inducted into his council of ministers.

With this the process of reshuffle of the Tarun Gogoi Government got under way. The Chief Minister though, was tight-lipped and declined to go into the details.

Gogoi today had two back-to-back meetings with Congress president Sonia Gandhi and vice president Rahul Gandhi. He confirmed that he had handed over the list to Sonia Gandhi for approval.

Later, he told newsmen that he had handed over the list to the Congress president and a final call would be taken by her.

Later in the evening Gogoi held yet another meeting with AICC general secretary Dr CP Joshi at the Assam Bhavan. The general secretary is also involved in the reshuffle exercise and the duo are believed to have discussed allocation of portfolios.

The Chief Minister has been meeting senior AICC leaders including political secretary to the Congress president Ahmed Patel. Sources said nothing much transpired at the meeting, with Patel asking Gogoi to submit the list directly to Gandhi.

The Chief Minister has to fill up eight vacancies and may even go in for change of portfolios of a few ministers.

Meanwhile, the usual names of aspirants were doing the rounds. Names of senior leaders like Sarat Barkataky, Abdul Muhib Mazumdar, besides Etuwa Munda, Bidya Singh Engleng and Aanjan Dutta among others are in circulation.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister has completely sidelined Himanta Biswa Sarmas group. Sarma, who has been flaunting the support of over 20 MLAs, has been left in the lurch. He has resigned from the Gogoi Cabinet and since then has been lying low.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister is attending a high level meeting on Wednesday with Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh. The meeting would also be attended by Nagaland Chief Minister TR Zeliang.
