GUWAHATI, Sept 27 - Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi has termed the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) raids at the residence of Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh as highly condemnable and vindictive.

I strongly condemn the vindictive attitude of the Central Government in raiding the residence of Virbhadra Singh, one of the most senior political personalities, Gogoi said in a statement, adding that the raids are nothing but political vendetta against those who are opposing the policies of the present political dispensation at the Centre.

He added, This type of coercive measure to tame down the opposition voices goes against the spirit of democracy. The Central Governments action against the opposition leaders is also tantamount to negation of Prime Minister Narendra Modis much hyped cooperative federalism.
