GUWAHATI, May 8 � Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today met Defence Minister AK Antony and discussed on issues related to insurgency and security scenario of the State.
Gogoi also apprised Antony about the slew of initiatives taken to combat terrorism under the Unified Command Structure.
Elaborating on the initiatives taken to eliminate terrorism from the State, Gogoi mentioned about the success achieved during the past 11 years. The issue of gradual fall of civilian killings in the past 11 years also figured in the discussion, said an official release.
Later, Chief Minister Gogoi met Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee and discussed about the economic scenario of the State and the fiscal management and discipline being initiated by the government to bolster the economy.
Gogoi also apprised Mukherjee about the host of innovative schemes being initiated by the State Government.
