GUWAHATI, June 21 The stalemate in the States political circuit over the demand for change in leadership continues with Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi expressing ignorance about the mood the Congress high command is in.
I am not aware of my position. How can I comment on others, Gogoi commented during a press conference when asked to comment on media reports speculating a change in leadership in states like Maharashtra.
I am going to New Delhi tomorrow to attend a meeting on the post-poll review of the partys performance, he said.
Gogoi, while addressing mediapersons, flayed the Modi Government for hiking passenger fares and freight rates, which are detrimental to the cause of the common man at large. Where is the Acche Din? he asked. Gogoi said he had asked the Deputy Commissioners to look into the aspects relating to price rise and take necessary measures.
On the controversy surrounding issuance of visa-less entry to Bangladeshi nationals, Gogoi stuck to his earlier comment, stating that the Ministry of External Affairs has sought the State Governments opinion and recorded it as well.
Meanwhile, in view of the governments move against insurgent activities, the Chief Minister said that it was important as it would ensure development of roads in forest areas. We are pursuing the case, he added.
