GUWAHATI, Feb 27 - Former Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today dared Prime Minister Narendra Modi to make public the clauses of the 2015 Framework Agreement signed by the Central Government with the NSCN(IM).
Gogois statement came in the wake of the claim made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Imphal on February 25, that the 2015 Framework has not a single word that compromises the territorial integrity of the northeastern states. The Prime Minister dismissed the allegations that the Framework Agreement would affect Manipurs territorial integrity.
Reacting to the claim of the Prime Minister, Gogoi said that the Central Government did not pay any heed to the demand of the northeastern states to make the clauses of the 2015 Framework Agreement public. But the clauses of the Framework Agreement, the Central Government inked with the NSCN(IM), are still under wraps.
Gogoi said in his statement here today, We welcome the Naga peace deal but it is quite astonishing as to why the clauses of the deal are kept in the dark. To keep such an important document under warps for a long time, raises doubt about its veracity. We will oppose tooth and nail any move that affects the interest of Assam.
He dared the Prime Minister to make the clauses of the Framework Agreement public at the earliest.
