NEW DELHI, March 23 � Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi on Friday called on Congress president Sonia Gandhi and briefed her about the prevailing political situation in the State.
According to sources, Chief Minister Gogoi briefed Sonia Gandhi about the ongoing budget session of the State Assembly and the Government�s initiatives to expedite some pending projects in the State.
Gogoi�s meeting comes in the backdrop of the ongoing exercise of finalising the PCC list of the State. The PCC is being reconstituted and the AICC general secretary in-charge for Assam, Digvijay Singh, is holding a series of meetings with the Chief Minister and the president of the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee, Bhubaneswar Kalita.
