TINSUKIA, Nov 10 � Goalpara defeated Barpeta by virtue of their 21-run first innings lead in the Group C match of the Amarjit Sharma Memorial U-15 Inter District Cricket Tournament and moved to the next round.
At the Tinsukia District Sports Association�s Katchujan Field here today, in reply to Goalpara�s first innings total of 226, Barpeta were all out for 205. Resuming at their overnight score of 210 for 7 wickets, Goalpara could add only 16 runs today losing three remaining wickets. Sambhav Jain (62) and Gaurav Thakuria (45) were their leading contributors.
In reply, the Barpeta boys scored 205 runs losing all the wickets in 91 overs. Gaurav Talukdar top scored with 54. Goalpara will play their next match against Silchar on November 13 and 14. On November 11 and 12, Charaideo will take on NF Railway SA.
