GUWAHATI, Aug 19 - Goalapara Municipal Board has installed the first e-toilet, with JVN Subramanyam, Deputy Commissioner, Goalpara, formally launching the facility on the Independence Day.
The unmanned self-cleaning, sleek and modular, SMART e-Toilet was installed for the first time to meet the needs of the emerging town. e-Toilets have simple user interfaces and provide clean and hygienic sanitation facilities to the public users. It has integrated a comprehensive maintenance plan which ensures that e-Toilets are clean and hygienic for every user.
The automated public toilet unit, �e-Toilet�, developed by Kerala-based Eram Scientific Solutions (ESS), has a facility of pre-flushing before entering, automatic flushing once usage is done, in-built water tanks, sensors for water and electricity conservation, automatic platform cleaning and power back-up. The performance status of the units can also be monitored via web using GPRS connectivity of the units.
�We have found the e-Toilet to be a reliable solution for critical sanitation issue for a town like Goalpara�, said Subramanyam.
