SIVASAGAR, Jan 7 � Sensation prevails in Sivasagar following a brutal murder at Ulutoli gaon near Mornoi Kinar in the district on Monday evening.
According to reports, Simi Begum, daughter of Babul Ali and Fatima Begum of Mornai Kinar, was brutally stabbed by her husband and father-in-law. According to eyewitnesses, three motorcycle-borne persons, two of them having been identified as her husband Toufique Shah and his father Sahidur Shah, called Simi to came out from her mother�s house and stabbed her at neck, chest and lower abdomen once she came out. The trio then fled from the scene.
Though Simi was rushed to Sivasagar Civil Hospital, she succumbed to her injuries on the way.
It needs mention here that Simi was a class IX student of Thanuram Gogoi Memorial HS School and a kazi from Sonari performed their nikah on April 22, 2014. On the other hand, Sahidur Shah is a lat mondol in the Sivasagar Circle.
A case has been registered with the Sivasagar police station in this regard. The police investigation is on and the miscreants are yet to be arrested.
