Ghosh murder

MANGALDAI, Sept 21 � Darrang police, which had lately drawn flak for its alleged failure to nab the miscreants involved in the sensational murder and dacoity case here in the residence of eminent High Court lawyer and prominent businessman Binay Kumar Ghosh, heaved a sigh of relief yesterday when they managed to nab the prime accused in the case, Mainul Haque (36), a resident of Islampur village under Dhula PS.

This was informed here today by Vivek Raj Singh, Superintendent of Police, Darrang. He was addressing mediapersons. Mainul, who had been absconding since the day of the incident, i.e. on August 29 last, was picked up from a hideout at Kharupetia town. A cash amount of Rs 25,000 suspected to be looted from the lawyer�s house was recovered from his possession. He confessed to his direct involvement in the gruesome incident.
