IMPHAL, Dec 20 - The All Manipur Constable viva voce demand committee (Imphal West and Thoubal Districts) has called a 24-hour general strike from December 23, 5pm to 5 pm of December 24 demanding the state government to conduct the pending viva-voce for eligible candidates of Imphal East and Thoubal districts.
Informing this at a press meet in Imphal recently, Convenor of the committee M Deven alleged that the viva voce for 4000 eligible candidates from the districts of Imphal West and Thoubal have been left undone by the state government, especially by the home department.
However, the viva voce has been conducted for candidates belonging to other 6 districts of Manipur, namely Ukhrul, Tamelong, Chandel, Churachanpur, Bishnupur and Imphal East respectively from September 18 onwards thisyear.
