Gauranga Das joins BJP

GUWAHATI, Oct 27 - Former principal secretary of the Assam Legislative Assembly Gauranga Prasad Das joined the Bharatiya Janata Party today. Das pledged his allegiance to the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and asserted that he has joined the BJP with the aspiration for a change in the country.

Das formally joined the party at a function held at the BJP Assam Pradesh head office at Hengrabari here. In his speech, he spoke about the vision of former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and the leadership of Narendra Modi and mentioned that the country was on the real path of development. He further said that there is no greed for power in the BJP, which has caught the fancy of a cross-section of the population.

Das referred to the myriad schemes undertaken by the BJP government and observed that if implemented in the true spirit, these schemes would change the face of rural India.

Many supporters of Das also joined the BJP today. The formal joining function was attended by many office-bearers of the party.
