DIBRUGARH, Jan 4 The deadlock between the Brahmaputra Cracker and Polymer Limited (BCPL) authorities and the workers continues as a section of the latter staged a demonstration in front of the main gate of the project site and did not allow any work for the second day today, alleging that the BCPL authorities had not responded to their demands.

Although the BCPL authorities held discussions yesterday with the contractors and a few representatives of the workers and claimed that the matter was resolved, protesting workers today said that the BCPL authorities neither communicated to them nor did they resolve the matter. Discussions should be held with the workers and not the contractors, the agitating workers demanded. Workers have demanded that the main gate of the BCPL be open 24 hours for their entry and exit and that proper work time schedule be prepared for different works.
