Garo Hills rocked by another moral policing case

TURA, April 16 - After the now infamous moral policing case of Paikan in Assam, Garo Hills was rocked by another case of moral policing after a video of the incident was uploaded in social media.

In the video taken near Chibinang village in West Garo Hills, a young woman can be seen brutally assaulted by the group of so called moral police in the presence of bystanders.

The woman was enjoying a picnic along with friends when the culprits assaulted her. The victim has not filed an FIR, but a suo moto FIR was filed by the police yesterday at Phulbari PS.

The Phulbari police have identified the main accused � Biren Sangma and Martin B Sangma. Biren has been arrested last night. Police squads have been mobilised to arrest the other culprits,� said SP of WGH, Dr MGR Kumar.
