Gaonburhas meet held in Golaghat

JORHAT, Nov 8 - Gaonburhas of 641 revenue villages of Golaghat district today discussed their vital issues in a conference at Golaghat District Library in the presence of Deputy Commissioner Anwarul Haque and Superintendent of Police Prithipal Singh.

Narrating the principal duties of the gaonburhas, Deputy Commissioner Haque said that the representatives of the revenue villages have to cope up with the principal duties for conservation of government land and reserved areas as the State Government recently added some new responsibilities to them in those particular activities.

Addressing the conference, SP Prithipal Singh mentioned about the indispensable role of the gaonburhas in maintaining law and order properly in their respective areas. Several officials from the administration were also present.
