GUWAHATI, April 25 - Fullerton India Credit Company Ltd (Fullerton India), a leading non-banking financial company with a pan-India presence, launched its first vision care centre for the State in Morigaon district on April 24.
One of the 12 such centres supported by Fullerton India across the country, the Morigaon vision care centre is a joint initiative of Sri Sankaradeva Nethralaya and Mission for Vision.
As part of Fullerton Indias Jyoti initiative, the vision care centre will provide quality eye care, besides creating awareness on eye ailments. The centre will also provide spectacles to individuals suffering from refractive error and refer the cataract patients to the base hospital for necessary clinical intervention.
Speaking to the media here in connection with the launch, Ayoshmita Biswas, Head of Marketing and CSR, Fullerton India Credit Company Ltd, said, It is our constant endeavour at Fullerton India to contribute to the social well-being of the economically deprived sections of society. Considering that refractive error and cataract are the leading causes of blindness in the country, we came together to educate individuals on the importance of regular eye care and check-ups, so that they can take preventive measures against such vision-related ailments. Through the vision care centre, we will also be conducting outreach camps to identify patients in remote locations of the district for special diabetic retinopathy screening.
