Full support for Bodoland demand: BPF

GORESWAR, Jan 11 � The activists of various Bodo organisations of the BTC have been raising the demand for formation of a separate Bodoland in the greater interest of the Bodo community of the BTAD, while the Bodoland People�s Front (BPF) also has no objection in this regard. This demand of a separate Bodoland has been made to the Central Government by the Bodo National Council (BNC) but BPF does not support the illegal agitations like blockade of road and railway tracks that have been resorted to by various Bodo organisations from time to time.

This was stated by Hagrama Mohilary, Chief of BTC and president of BPF, as chief guest in the joint session of the second triennial conference organised by the Suklai Serfang block committee BPF as well as Tamulpur District Committee of BPF (from January 3) at Biwsagushali, Naokata on January 5. Besides, Mohilary appealed to the NDFB(R) to come forward for negotiation with the Centre and avoid activities like abduction, extortion killing etc in BTAD.

The open session was chaired by Maheswar Basumatary, ex-EM and president of Tamulpur district committee while Ganesh Kachary, EM, Suklai Serfang constituency and vice-president, TDC/BPF inaugurated it at 2 pm.

Ganesh Kachary, in his inaugural speech, revealed that the BPF is the only political party of Assam that can usher in development in BTAD.

Biswajit Daimary, Rajya Sabha MP, Emanuel Mosahary, MLA, Tamulpur LAC and general secretary, BPF, Lwmsrao Daimary, EM, BTC and secretary, BPF, Deben Boro, EM, BTC, Pabitra Kumar Boro, MCLA, Goreswar constituency, Rabindra Biswas, Biswajit Gwra Narzary, Banamali Boro, EM-BTC, president, Mushalpur district committee, BPF, Baktar Ali Ahmed, vice-president, central BPF, Niropama Borgohain, central secretary of the women�s wing of BPF, etc., participated in the joint session.
