MANGALDAI, Feb 26 - More than 2,400 power consumers under Mangaldai Division of APDCL have each availed four LED bulbs free of cost under the Mukhya Mantrir Akash Deep Yojana (MMADY) since its launch on Saturday.

Talking to this Correspondent, Pranjal Kataki, AGM of APDCL, Mangaldai Division informed that distribution of bulbs to genuine consumers under domestic �A� in addition to the BPL consumers was going on in the district since Saturday with a target to cover maximum number of beneficiaries.

In one such function on Sunday in Jaljali Gaon Panchayat under Mangaldai Electrical Sub-Division, altogether 317 consumers availed the benefit.

�Till date, we have covered a total of 1,182 consumers under Mangaldai Electrical Sub-Division and another 1,162 in Sipajhar Sub-Division. Bulbs have been distributed among 108 consumers under Kharupetia ESD of the district too,� Kataki maintained.

AGM Kataki further informed about the ceremonial launch of the programme in several Gaon Panchayats of the district, where several prominent persons like Mangaldai legislator Gurujyoti Das, Additional Deputy Commissioner Naranarayan Nath and senior departmental officials, including deputy managers of the respective areas took part in the function.
