Free counselling in schools from today

By Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, Sept 24 - FIITJEE, a New Delhi-based private coaching institute will conduct free counselling seminars at selected schools in Assam and Meghalaya from tomorrow till September 29.

The institute will organise seminars in at least 40 schools in Guwahati, Shillong and Tezpur from tomorrow under its non-classroom programmes.

Amit Bansal, who heads the non-classroom programmes and operations of FIITJEE, said in a statement, The main emphasis of the visit is to give a right platform to the meritorious students from North-east India to excel in various competitive exams. Sometimes, due to lack of right means, including coaching and financial support, many potential students fail to achieve what they aspire to achieve. We help students realise their true potential, identify the shortcomings and accordingly plan out an action to plug those loopholes.

These seminars are not limited to few partner schools, but are also open to other schools as well, especially the ones who want to attain benefit, he said.

They have already held similar sessions in some boarding schools in Siliguri, Darjeeling, Kalimpong, and Kursiang in North Bengal.

During a session the institute officials interact with students as well as faculty members, understand their problems and suggest various methods to scientifically prepare and plan the studies.

Students will also be guided on various tools required to enhance self-learning abilities and test their potential at regular intervals. In addition to this, existing faculty members of these schools will also be given valuable suggestions on goal-oriented teaching, the statement said.
