GORESWAR, July 8 - Goreswar Police arrested a gang of miscreants from various places who were engaged in making forged driving licenses in Guwahati at Rs 3,000 per document in the name of a Baksa District Transport officer.
Following an allegation levelled by one Prasanta Biswas at Goreswar Police Station in Baksa district, the Officer in-charge of Goreswar Police Station Heramba Goswami managed to seize 14 forged driving licenses which were unscrupulously made in Guwahati.
The police subsequently arrested Raju Bhoumik from Dhirenpara of Guwahati, Sourav Kumar Dey from Gupinath Nagar of Guwahati, Narayan Choudhury from Hajo and Safikul Haque from Barghuli near Rangiya and registered a case No. 85/19 against the culprits under Section 406/420/468/34 of IPC at Goreswar Police Station and remanded them to judicial custody.
