Four killed in separate mishaps

MANGALDAI, May 15 - Four persons were killed while three others were injured in three separate road accidents on the NH 15 of Dalgaon and Sipajhar in the district on Saturday.

In the first incident near Niz-Dalgaon village, two persons were killed, when a truck bearing registration no. NL01K8782 on which they were coming from Tezpur collided head on with another truck coming from the opposite direction with registration no. ARO1A4319. One of the victims was later identified as Mansoor Alam (35), a resident of Khurmukh in Joy Nagar district of Jharkhand. He was the driver of the vehicle. However, the other victim suspected to be the �handyman� of the same vehicle is yet to be identified. Two other persons, identified as Ohidul Rahman (30) and Siddik Ali (50), both residents of Lakhimpur and passengers of the other vehicle, were injuries have been admitted to the Mangaldai Civil Hospital.

On the other hand one Atul Saikia (40), a passenger of the Magic vehicle with registration no. AS 27C 1366 was killed when the speedy vehicle lost control and fell into a road side ditch near Kadamtoli under Sipajhar Police Station. Similarly in another road mishap on the NH 15 near Khandajan also under Sipajhar PS, one bike rider identified as Uddijya Barua (17), a HS second year student of a private junior college of Mangaldai, was killed when the bike with registration no. AS01 AN 6566, he was riding along with a friend hit a goods carrier van coming from the opposite direction bearing registration AS01 FC 9296. The pillion rider of the bike identified as Inamul Haque (17) who sustained serious injuries was shifted from a Sipajhar hospital to Guwahati in a critical condition.
