Four held for crude, condensate oil theft

DULIAJAN, March 21 - In an operation against illegal condensate and crude oil trade, Naharkatiya police nabbed four persons including two employees of Oil India Ltd and two home guards.

The development against illegal crude oil business came after Naharkatiya police led an operation inside South Bank area of Oil India Ltd�s production unit. An assistant operator of OIL Nirmal Phukan and home guard Parashmoni Deka were arrested by the police on Thursday. A considerable amount of crude and condensate oil and valuable valves were recovered from the two accused.

The administrative wing of Oil India Ltd informed the police about the illegal crude oil trade which was being operated by a circle of traders. Meanwhile, on Friday, Naharkatiya police arrested one more OIL employee Mukul Neog and another home guard Mukul Neog in connection with the case, after getting leads from the previously arrested men.

In accordance with the FIR filled by OIL, Naharkatiya police has filed a case under Section 371/411, RW section 3 (2) (b) PDPP of 1984 of Indian Penal Code and has started investigations.
