BISWANATH CHARIALI, June 21 Sensation prevails in Biswanath Chariali following recovery of four dead bodies today in a ditch at New Line division of Asias largest tea garden, Monabari tea estate under Behali Police Station.

The bodies have been identified as those of Binanda Gourh (40), his wife Karisma Gourh (35), their daughter Naina Gourh (15) and her friend Mungri Moora (10) of Dhemajibari reserve soil.

Police told The Assam Tribune that the murder might be a fallout of witch hunting and some villagers were involved in the sensational murders.

According to sources, Gourhs family had a quarrel with one Surat Modi and after this, he reportedly fell ill. Surat Modis family held a puja last Sunday and the priest who performed the puja told them that they had been suffering from various diseases only because of Binanda Gourhs practice of black magic. Hearing this, some agitated people reached Gourhs residence and beat the inmates badly. Since then, they were missing.
