GUWAHATI, Jan 28 Accusing the ruling Congress of starting a foundation stone laying politics, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Assam Pradesh unit today slammed the State government saying that such undue haste in laying foundation stones smacked of a cheap gimmick to woo the voters.
The party particularly targetting Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, said that his laying of foundation stones when the elections were nearing was reflective of his gimmick to attract the attention of the electorates. The Health Ministers indulgence will not improve the medical scenario in the State, rather it will be a heavy burden on the State exchequer, said spokesperson of the party Dr Pradip Thakuria.
On the other hand, Dr Thakuria said that the BJP has succeeded in kindling hope in the people of the State who are waiting for a change. He said that people in large number were joining the BJP as they were confident that the party would be able to eradicate corruption.
