TINSUKIA, Nov 11 � With an intention to provide veterinary treatment at the doorsteps of the farmers in remote areas like Megelagaon Panchayat under Saikhowa Block of Tinsukia district, a veterinary and animal husbandry facility named Borpathar Veterinary Complex will be built by the State Government.
The foundation of the complex was laid by Bolin Chetia, Parliamentary Secretary and MLA of Sadiya on Sunday in the presence of Ratneswar Moran, vice chairman of the Tinsukia Zila Parishad, Amarendra Baruah, chief executive officer of the Tinsukia Zila Parishad, District Veterinary Officer Dr Anup Kumar Das and other officers of the Veterinary Department, besides NABARD officials, dignitaries and members of the respective villages.
The proposed complex worth Rs 62 lakh will be built from the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund of NABARD and will consist of a veterinary dispensary and doctors� quarters, besides those of veterinary field assistant and other necessary staff of the dispensary.
In his speech, Bolin Chetia urged the respective villagers to avail all possible medical facilities for their cattle and other domestic animals. He stated that the present State Government was taking special interest for development of the rural areas on a priority basis.
