HAFLONG, Nov 26 � The 10th foundation day of the Haflong Khurang, a weekly in the Dimasa language published from here, was observed on Monday.

In this connection, a meeting was chaired by D Bathari, former publicity secretary of the Jadikhe Naisho Hosom. Kalyan Daolagupu, president, Jadikhe Naisho Hosom, was the chief guest at the function held at the Town Rajee Hall.

The meeting was attended by Dethanh Naiding, former president, Jadikhe Naisho Hosom, B Yabra, Amrit Kemprai, chairman, Dibarai Village Council, S Thaosen, Agnes Gorlosa, M Jidung of Dimasa Mothers� Association and others. Other media persons were also present.

The function started with the offering of homage to the pioneering journalist of Dima Hasao, late SR Thaosen and photo-journalist late Krishna Chetri.

This was followed by the felicitation of all the dignitaries, media persons and correspondents of the Haflong Khurang with traditional gamochas.

Among others, Anup Biswas, Biplab Deb, Samsul Alom and Pankaj Deb spoke on various aspects of the media, including challenges and occupational hazards.

Earlier, Sukhen Phonglo, guardian of the Haflong Khurang family, thanked the people and media persons for their support to the weekly.
